My 2018 21-Day Fasting and Prayers

So,

Service at The Living Faith Church Worldwide
While folks were making New Year resolutions, I joined my church; The Living faith Church Worldwide AKA Winners Chapel in annual prayers. I had a breakthrough in each of the last two years I participated in and I wanted another breakthrough this year. Who does not?

I will share my experience as well as my Father(Bishop Oyedepo)'s teaching on the benefits of fasting and prayers.

Fasting is a commandment ( Isaiah 58: 1-14, Matthew 6:16-18) as well as a choice.  Esther chose to fast in Esther 4:16. If you want an end to several manipulations of the devil in your
life, it is advisable that you fast and pray. Praying during the fast is more important. Papa would say that fasting without prayers is dieting. Which is a waste of your time because "Bodily exercises profits nothing".

We started the 21-day fasting and prayers on January 8, 2018. Some of the things I did throughout the fast are:

1. Lose my distractions e.g my laptop. The laptop is filled with different kinds of movies/distractions I had to give it to someone to "take care of it. LOL. I also tried my best to stay away from social media. I did not subscribe to my mobile data plan for most of this fast. The Bible says when your eye is single, the whole body will be filled with light. Focus matters and it pays.

2.  I read the Bible; God's word everyday. I also followed Pastor David Oyedepo Junior's The Great Light on Instagram. He started a read the Bible in one year plan and I did not want to miss it. He would also come online to share light on the scriptures.  This helped me a lot. Reading the Word made me feel close to God. I saw light on issues concerning me each day.

3.  Our church had morning and evening services to help build our faith and I made sure to join the evening services; via Live steam or my zonal church. Every Friday night,  we had "One Night With The King" services with segments for Personal Supplications. Members were advised/admonished to spend time pressing and praying.

I had major breakthroughs in 2016 and 2017 via Fasting and Prayers. This year's experience was surreal because it has never been like this for me. I have never fasted for 21 days non stop. I have done 3 days fast non stop but 21- days? Without thinking about puff-puff? never.

I also had lots of strength and grace on the prayer altar. One night I prayed for over 3-hours without stop, re-arranged my bed to sleep only to find out that I was late for work. God is awesome. I had unusual strength and lots of confidence in God; the only one that knows my future.

There's also this unshakable faith you can only have when you see proofs/testimonies of God's wonders in your own life.

I will share Bishop Oyedepo's teachings on Prayers with Fasting on another post. You can check our previous services via Moses Ntam on Youtube or Domi INC. You can also live stream any of our services with them or visit Faith Tabernacle Live

God go bless you!

My First Day In Ikoyi Prison

Hello guys, I was led to join the Prison Ministry in my church many moons ago. I had a desire to help people in many ways by providing resources,  my time, etc. Serving there has been a blessing.  Ikoyi Prison Entrance My first experience at Ikoyi Prison, Falomo was enriching. I left home early to avoid the usual Third Mainland Bridge traffic so that I could make it to the Prison and join my team mates on time so I was feeling drowsy. I was surprised when my team mate said I should not worry that the sleep would disappear as soon as we step in. She was right. I forgot the sleep and was emotional all through our stay/service. Before we entered the facility, we were thoroughly searched. Azzin!! Head to toe something. No phones allowed. No sharp objects either. Then I saw the men.  There were so many men. So many hungry and hopeful gazes at us. We were led to the Church, yes, there are two churches and a mosque in that facility. I was impressed an...

Customer Service Talk with Jane

The not so huge secret is out! I have been sharing some business tips on this blog but I am more passionate about Customer Service and I am very vocal about this not because of my years of experience working as a Customer Service Executive but because Nigerian vendors like to test our patience and I have experienced too much of it to ignore. I have also been hosting talks on a Whatsapp group for a while now where I share some tips and my Customer Service experience, answer questions business owners have and how to resolve customer complaints satisfactorily. I am excited to share publicly that I will be hosting another Customer Service Talk on March 6, 2022 by 8pm. Attendance is free and virtual(Google Meet) but you have to register. See link below: https://forms.gle/Jp9cTX6fTLNUzpnf6 See you there!

Don't Keep Your Customers Waiting

Feedbacks like the above aren't good for business growth as they discourage other "intending" Customers. You should not keep Customers waiting whether you own a kiosk or a conglomerate.  We have terrible and incompetent policymakers in Nigeria whose policies crumble businesses, but business owners should play their part and ensure they keep their businesses afloat by keeping loyal Customers satisfied.  When you satisfy your clients, they would not leave. They will bring more clients to you saving you the cost budgeted for Advertisement and Promotion. One of the parts you need to play well is to hire willing and loyal staff. I didn't believe tales of few good or employable people until I started helping employers to hire people. The labour market is not encouraging, yes, but you should keep searching. You can use job sites well, give them your requirements and pay the applicable fee needed to get what you want. You can also headhunt after proper due diligence. If you d...
