Book Review: El Shaddai, The God Who Is More Than Enough

One of the best decisions I made this year was joining a book club. We receive an average of 10 books daily.

When I saw this book EL Shaddai, The God Who Is More Than Enough by Kenneth E. Hagin, I shouted for joy and snatched it. While reading the book, I almost highlighted all portions of the 52-page book. The pages has so many gems that I had to take notes.

The book starts with several biblical examples/proofs that God is more than enough. He then shared real life stories, including how God healed him when he was 16 and about to die.

On page 13, Kenneth Hagin shared a Greek Translation of John 14:13 that a scholar shared with them in ministerial school that was mind blowing.  The translation says that:

If you ask anything in My name, if I don't have it, I'll make it for you!
From the book, I understood that God is not a thief or destroyer, the devil is - John 10:10, 1 Peter 5:8.

My key message in Page 19 is that: if my love is set on God, My Will will be in line with the Word of God. If I know and fellowship with God, I won't ask anything contrary to the Will of God because God's Word is God's Will.

In Page 21, Kenneth E. Hagin said that affliction/troubles are just tests and trials, prescribing what to do when "afflicted" in James 5:13,14, Psalm 34:19.  He shared a testimony(an historical fact) of a black woman whose daughter was about to be sold on the auction block and she said a simple prayer: "Dear Lord, if you were in trouble as I am in trouble, and I could help you as easy as You could help me, I would do it!". A senator's son saw the woman and her daughter, bought the daughter and handed her over to the mother. Kenneth Hagin says he has said that prayer more than once and it works.

We will always be in trouble. Jesus was persecuted, everyone else were troubled because they are Christians but God delivered them. You shall be delivered Psalm 34:19.

From the book, I understood that the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19 - 28 that Jesus told is real because Jesus used the word "certain".

There is a Voices and the devil's voice. Satan knows the scriptures more than we do and he can use them to confuse/sway us. We need to search the scriptures. Test the word, use them when afflicted.

There are scriptural references of what to do to live long. Commandments to follow if we want to live long.

Finally, I love the story of the man that could not be saved.

Song: Praise Is What I Do By Skekinah Glory Ft. William Murphy

When I understood the lyrics of this song, I could only cry. This song is uplifting, talks about one of God's commandments (Malachi 2:1-3). It is also a vow to praise God no matter our situation. Praise is a debt we owe God.
